12 years and the job search hasn’t changed.

It’s been 12 years since I had to be on a job search and I still see the same issues I saw before. The biggest being most job openings are for Senior level positions which is disheartening and discouraging.

To remain positive I’ve been focusing on self development and improvement. Between job searches I’m gaining new skills, I started by learning Machine Learning and then shifted my focus to learning Swift and iOS app development to build apps freelance or for myself. Regardless of what my focus is on, my mindset is 1% growth a day.

As for the content creation side of things I said I’d pursue when I first got laid off, I’ve got a supportive group of friends. These friends are successful creators telling me to pursue a career in it. I’m not sure which is harder, getting back into the workforce that seems hesitant to give me a chance or pursuing the “content creator dream.” Either way, pursuing both and doing my best to focus on being positive.
